Gaza - Saba:
The spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Abu Ubeida, announced this evening, Thursday, the martyrdom of Chief of Staff Mohammed Deif during the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, accompanied by a number of prominent leaders.
He said: "We mourn to our great people the martyrdom of the Chief of Staff of the Al-Qassam Brigades Mohammed Deif."
Abu Obeida also announced the martyrdom of Ghazi Abu Tama'a, the commander of the weapons and combat services department, the martyrdom of Raed Thabet, the commander of the human resources department, and the martyrdom of Rafe Salama, the commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade during the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle.
In mid-July, the occupation army said that it had carried out an airstrike on the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis and "targeted Mohammed Deif," the commander-in-chief of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
Israel announced today, two weeks after mid-July, his assassination, after he had survived seven previous assassination attempts before the current aggression on Gaza, and was at the top of the Israeli assassination list.
Mohammed Deif has held the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Qassam Brigades since the martyrdom of Salah Shehadeh, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Brigades. The Israeli occupation holds him responsible for the killing of a large number of Israelis and carrying out a number of operations inside the occupied territories.
