Taiz - Saba:

Over the past year, Taiz province has experienced a remarkable developmental renaissance, despite the challenges posed by the ongoing aggression and blockade led by the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. This period of transformation has been driven by the efforts of the local leadership, government institutions, and service bodies.

A total of more than two billion Y.R has been invested into the implementation of various development and service projects across several key sectors. Health, education, water, agriculture, and infrastructure have been prioritized, in line with the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council, to achieve sustainable local development and improve the lives of citizens.

The leadership of Acting Governor Ahmed Amin al-Masawa has been instrumental in meeting the developmental needs and aspirations of the population. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing siege and aggression, the governorate has made significant progress, with many service and development projects already underway, particularly in New Taiz.

Under the guidance of the revolutionary leader, Sayed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, Taiz's leadership has transformed the province into a hub of development. Notable achievements include the ongoing construction of the Taiz General Hospital and the expansion of Taiz University, marking significant milestones in the consolidation of infrastructure and the expansion of developmental prospects in the region.

These advancements reflect the resilience and commitment of the people of Taiz to overcome aggression and continue their path toward comprehensive development.

The expansion of construction and paving of new streets, the implementation of water and sanitation projects, the strengthening of the medical capabilities of the military hospital, agricultural development, and the activation and encouragement of community initiatives were among the most notable achievements in Taiz province in the previous period.

University Education Sector:

Taiz University project in Al-Hawban area is one of the strategic initiatives that has been a dream of the people of the province for many years until it became a reality. Its importance lies in making a qualitative leap in university education and meeting the aspirations and ambitions of students across various disciplines.

The steps to complete Al-Hawban University project, which cost about 407 million YER, with funding from the local authority in the first stage, have accelerated at a high pace due to its significance in accommodating students and enrolling them in various scientific and academic disciplines.

Health Sector:

The leadership of the province and the health sector have been working to establish health projects that help alleviate the suffering of citizens, who previously had to travel to the capital, Sana’a, and other provinces for treatment. One such project is the Taiz General Hospital in al-Janad area, which is nearing completion and is set to provide essential medical services.

The project, funded by the local authority at a cost of 600 million YER, will represent a qualitative addition to the health sector in the province, offering medical and therapeutic services across various specialties.

Water and Sanitation Sector:

The water and sanitation sector has witnessed significant achievements and accelerated progress, marking important steps in moving the wheel of service and development. This sector is one of the foundations of infrastructure and comprehensive development, with several projects either completed or in progress.

A series of water and sanitation projects have been implemented, including a project to supply and install a solar energy system to operate two wells in Demnat Khader, a project to supply and install a solar energy system to operate two wells in Hajda area, and a project to supply and install solar energy to operate the Batra well.

Additionally, there are other ongoing projects in Taiz province, such as the installation of a solar energy system to operate wells in Sheab al-Rayhan (first stage), a project to connect the displaced camps in al-Taiziyah to the public network, a project to filter 12 wells belonging to the local Water and Sanitation Corporation, a project to extend water lines in al-Maqhafa neighborhood, as well as a project to extend a sanitary line to the lower terrace area (first stage). Other notable projects include the rehabilitation of the treatment plant in al-Buraihi area and the extension of the sewage network in al-Mandud, al-Ranj factory, Wadi Ahmed, and the Technical Institute east of the city.

The water and sewage projects still under implementation include the supply and installation of solar pumping systems at al-Rahda Junction well and al-Sharafa well, as well as the extension of the main sewage line transporting wastewater from the Roads Authority neighborhood to al-Juhaim Station (Phase I).

These projects also include the rehabilitation and operation of the Habir and al-Hima wells, maintenance of the main and branch lines carrying water up to the control tank (including manholes), the supply and installation of additional solar pumping systems, and the operation of Habir Well No. 6. Additionally, the extension of water distribution lines in Jama'a Sala neighborhood (a total length of 1,900 meters) is underway. Another project involves the establishment of a water collection and distribution tank in al-Hawban, with the extension of pumping and liquefaction lines. Furthermore, a project for the supply and delivery of pumps, submersible motors, generators, and electrical transformers of various capacities is also part of the ongoing developments.

Roads Sector

The road sector occupies a priority in the plan and program of the local authority in the province as the gateway to development and the lifeblood of development.

In the field of roads, Taiz province witnessed a qualitative leap with the implementation of projects to build new streets, asphalt works, paving and rehabilitation of a number of roads in the province center and a number of districts, the most prominent of which is the project of building al-Khamsin Street, the third sector at a cost of 276 million YER funded by the local authority, and the project of building the 40th and 30th streets, the fourth sector from the extension of the publication area to the entrance of the Technical Institute at a cost of 270 million riyals funded by the local authority.

The implemented road projects included the construction and paving of al-Kadah al-zulul Al-Jubayba road, Maqbana district , at a cost of 142 million YER, al-Sweida road rehabilitation project, Mawiya district, at a cost of 110 million YER, the construction of al - Saraham road, Jabal Habshi district, at a cost of 24 million YER, and the asphalting the line connecting the Main Street, the Taiz-Sana'a line, 60th Street and September 21st Street, the second phase, at a cost of 262 million YER, funded by the local authority.

The road projects also included the asphalting project of Shahid Zaid Suwaileh Street, 30th Street, at a cost of 300 million YER, funded by the local authority, as well as the rehabilitation project of the sixty line, which runs from dhukra entrance to Sherab junction with a length of 26 kilometers, at a cost of 800 million YER, the first stage funded by the road maintenance fund and the rehabilitation project of the western entrance to the city, in addition to the rehabilitation project of the Softail Tour Road passing the palace tour to the entrance of the camp at a cost of about 123 million YER, funded by the Ministry of Finance.

Development projects for distirct:

Rural development is important in providing services and enhancing the living stability of citizens, and the province's districts have received and continued to receive a copious share of service projects, most notably the opening and laying the foundation stone for development and service projects in the directorates of Sharab al Rawnah, Jabal Habshi and al-Ta'ziyyah, which are accepted by more than one billion YER.

Rural development is one of the priorities of the local authority's plan and program, which will promote local development and alleviate the suffering of citizens in remote and disadvantaged areas in order to find sources of income that contribute to the development and stability of society.

Agricultural development sector:

Agricultural development is one of the most important core issues that enjoys exceptional support and support from the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council and the local authority as the main gateway to achieve an ambitious agricultural renaissance that contributes to achieving food security.

The leadership of the local authority worked to activate the pivotal role of cooperative societies by providing them with six modern plows and three "sheolat" mechanisms for the agricultural sector, the agricultural expansion of grain and legume crops as a first stage and the production of about 200 thousand coffee seedlings and one hundred thousand seedlings of guava, pomegranate, lemon and mango.

The agricultural sector in the province has achieved a qualitative leap in the implementation of a series of projects, most notably the purchase of solar energy systems for farmers in Maqbana district, the rehabilitation and maintenance of Qeyad canal with a length of about three kilometers, the protection of agricultural lands and the maintenance of irrigation canals in the upper gendiya with consolation and the implementation of 18 water barriers and dams in a number of district .

The projects implemented in the agricultural sector included the distribution of 1,200 sheep and goats in some areas to improve the living of the community, the distribution of two agricultural plows for the district of Maqbana, and the rehabilitation of the building of the agricultural complex in the district of Khadir at a cost of 600 million YER funded by the local authority.

The acting governor of Taiz, Ahmed al-Masawa, confirmed that the implementation of Service and development projects translates the directives of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, and the Presidnet of the Supreme Political Council and the program of the government of change and construction in making a qualitative leap in various fields.

He pointed to the progress of the province leadership in improving services and implementing development projects that contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens in the province and enhance local sustainable development efforts, pointing to the efforts exerted to activate the role of community initiatives in the governorate directorates in various sectors.

He pointed to the keenness to improve the level of performance and contribute to the implementation of projects that enhance community resilience, especially in light of the repercussions and challenges of aggression and siege.
