Occupied Quds - Saba:
"Hamas' announcement last night to stop returning prisoners accurately reflects the real balance of power," said the former head of the Zionist National Security Council, noting that"Hamas will make us crawl until we see, if we see, all the prisoners return to their homes."
"The way in which three of the prisoners returned last Saturday clarifies what should have been clear for a long time, that "Israel" failed in the war on Gaza," Giora Eiland added, according to what was reported by the Zionist media.
"There are two known ways to evaluate the results of the war, the first of which is to examine the extent to which each side achieved its goals, and so far, Israel has failed to achieve three and a half out of four goals: We did not destroy Hamas's military power, we did not topple Hamas's rule, we were unable to return the residents of the Gaza Strip to their homes safely, and as for returning the prisoners, this was only partially achieved, while Hamas achieved all of its goals."
The author of "The Generals' Plan" noted that the second way to examine the results of the confrontation is linked to the most important element in any war, which is the desire of each side to impose its will on the other.
In his article in "Yedioth Ahronoth", he based his article on the German-Japanese war in 1945, saying: "When an absolute victory is achieved, the other side surrenders unconditionally," but if the victory is partial, "the defeated side is forced to give up territory, accept disarmament, give up its rule, or pay compensation."
Eiland believed that the occupation government is "ignorant of the nature of wars in general, and the wars of the 21st century in particular", noting that "the basic mistake was in misunderstanding the reality, when Netanyahu announced that Hamas is like ISIS, he destroyed in advance any chance of victory".
In an analysis of what happened on October 7, Eiland considered that the outcome of wars between countries is determined by each country's ability to economically strangle the other. However, "Israel" did the opposite, as it provided the Gaza government with all its needs of food, water and fuel, and this is "great stupidity", according to him.
In a tweet on Monday, the military spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, announced the postponement of the handover of the Zionist prisoners, who were scheduled to be released next Saturday, "until further notice", due to the occupation's violations and procrastination in bringing in aid.
This step was met with a response from US President Donald Trump, who gave a deadline until Saturday, at 12 noon, for all Zionist prisoners to be handed over, otherwise "the gates of hell will open".
