The US Associated Press revealed that more than 25 religious organizations have filed a lawsuit against the US authorities for threatening to arrest immigrants in places of worship.
The agency indicated that more than 25 Christian and Jewish groups, representing millions of Americans, filed a lawsuit in federal court, challenging the decision of the administration of US President Donald Trump, which gives immigration agents more freedom to make arrests in places of worship.
On Friday, the U.S. Department of Justice released a document stating that raids on immigrants in places of worship have been legal for decades, and that the new administration's actions enabled officers to carry out their operations without prior authorization from a supervisor only, the AP reported.
