Bethlehem - Saba:
Palestinian activists from the "Fighters for Peace" movement carried out on Friday a voluntary campaign to plant 150 olive seedlings in the town of Battir, west of Bethlehem, on land threatened with seizure for colonial purposes.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the landowner, Kawthar Salah, praised the support of the activists. She noted the difficulty of accessing the land due to its seizure and transformation into so-called "state land" by the Zionist enemy.
Last year, the Zionist enemy government announced the construction of a new colony named "Hilts", seizing thousands of dunams in Battir, Al-Walaja and Al-Makhror area in Beit Jala.
For his part, activist Sayel Jabarin confirmed that the campaign is part of Combatants for Peace's ongoing efforts to plant trees on lands threatened by colonization in the so-called "C" areas of Battir. He added that the movement believes in joint popular resistance against the occupation.
