The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has strongly condemned US President Donald Trump's call for the displacement of Palestinians from their land to Egypt and Jordan, and the control Gaza Strip.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the ministry considered Trump's call a war crime, a crime against humanity, ethnic cleansing, and a blatant violation of international human rights law, including the right to life , dignity, the right to property, the right to be protected from violence and torture.
The ministry stated that Trump's fanciful statements constitute a violation of international humanitarian law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention (1949), which states in its Article 49 that "individual or mass forcible transfer, as well as deportation, of protected persons from occupied territory to the territory of the occupying power or to the territory of any other state, whether occupied or not, is prohibited, regardless of its motives."
The ministry stressed its categorical rejection of Trump's statements and its condemnation of the White House's shock diplomacy aimed at stirring up trouble and jeopardizing the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza, at a time when the Gaza Strip, inhabited by millions of Palestinians, is facing catastrophic humanitarian conditions as a result of the continuous shelling and the blockade imposed for years.
The ministry called on the international community to take a firm stance against any attempts to redraw the demographic map of the region by force.
It praised the decision of the revolutionary and political leadership to militarily support the Palestinians. The ministry emphasized that Trump's call reflects a racist and terrorist ideology that threatens all of humanity.
The ministry reaffirmed the right of the Palestinians to remain on their land, the land of their ancestors, and their future generations.
It called on the international community, primarily the Security Council, world countries, and various international and human rights organizations to condemn the shameful American anomaly of displacing the people of Gaza Strip and the American control over it.
