Moscow – SABA:
Muscat will host an exhibition on Russian avant-garde art later this year or early next year, while Moscow will welcome an exhibition showcasing Omani culture.
According to TASS, Daria Parvinenko, Deputy Director General of the Tretyakov Gallery for Artistic Activities, highlighted Moscow’s interest in avant-garde and abstract art in Oman.
She announced that the Tretyakov Gallery will host an exhibition organized by Oman’s National Museum in June. “We will organize an exhibition in Oman at the end of 2025 or early 2026, dedicated to Russian avant-garde art. There is significant interest in avant-garde and abstract art in Oman, making this exhibition highly anticipated. We will also participate in the ‘Russian Seasons’ festival taking place in Oman during that period.”
Regarding the exhibition in Moscow, Parvinenko explained that Omani museum staff are collaborating with Russian experts to develop its concept. “The main goal is to highlight Oman’s artistic history and traditions. Despite a limited number of exhibits, the display will include archaeological artifacts, paintings, traditional dance costumes, and contemporary Omani art.”
