A joint meeting held today in Sana'a, headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed Muftah, discussed preparations for opening the Social and Health Care Center to receive and shelter the "unaccompanied" homeless in the capital.
The meeting, which included the head of the General Authority for Zakat, Sheikh Shamsan Mohsen Abu Nishtan, and the Ministers of Social Affairs Samir Baja'ala and Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shiban, and a number of undersecretaries and representatives of the parties concerned with aspects of care and shelter for the homeless, reviewed topics related to completing the equipment, furniture, equipment, and health and medical supplies.
The attendees discussed the tasks accomplished and the necessary needs for the centers for receiving, sheltering, rehabilitating and integrating the homeless (homeless mentally ill unaccompanied by care).. stressing the responsibility placed on the government and the concerned parties towards this vulnerable segment of society, considering sheltering the homeless a humanitarian, religious, moral and social priority.
They stressed the importance of achieving the desired results for the center by providing social care for the homeless, rehabilitating them psychologically, reintegrating them into society, and returning them to their families as normal and effective elements.
