Sana'a - Saba:
The Ministry of Youth and Sports, through its General Administration of Specialized Activities, has announced plans to organize championships for young athletes, known as buds and cubs, to celebrate the reopening of al-Dhurafi Stadium in the capital Sana'a.
General Administration of Specialized Activities initiated a three-day training program for talented young players in preparation for these championships, which will feature athletes aged 12 and 15.
Abdulwahab al-Hawani, Director of Specialized Activities, stated that participating teams will be assessed through mini-competitions held at eight stadiums. The competitions will include five-a-side football for 12-year-olds and seven-a-side football for 15-year-olds.
The organizing committee is focused on ensuring teams adhere to age restrictions and maintain discipline to select those eligible for the official championships. These events will be held under the Ministry's patronage and with support from the Youth Care Fund.
The inauguration of the training program was attended by Issam Driban, Director of Sports Activities at the Ministry, and members of the Technical Committee, including Sami Jaim, Hamid al-Badani, Mohammed Jamal, Sami al-Dhamari, Yasser al-Ahmadi, and coaches from the participating teams. This initiative underscores the Ministry's commitment to fostering youth sports and developing young talent in Yemen.
