Sana'a University honored the deans of the faculties, their deputies for quality affairs and the working teams involved in achieving institutional and programmatic academic accreditation for the university's faculties in recognition of the efforts exerted in obtaining national institutional and programmatic accreditation from the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance (CAQA).
At the ceremony organized by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, Sana'a University President Dr. Al-Qasim Abbas stressed that the honor comes in recognition of the efforts of the deans of colleges, vice deans for quality affairs, general secretaries and the teams that participated in achieving institutional and programmatic academic accreditation for all academic programs except for the laboratory and higher nursing programs at the Faculty of Medicine, which are currently completing the requirements for accreditation.
Dr. Al-Qasim stated that the completion of this project came after great efforts by all university leaders and employees, including academics, administrators , technicians, and the implementation of more than 500 workshops that contributed to spreading and promoting the culture of quality in all university faculties.
He said that the university has a global entitlement to international accreditation, which makes it imperative for the deans of the faculties to start forming committees to familiarize themselves with the international accreditation standards for each specialty , international body and work according to those standards. He stressed that the steps are underway to complete the requirements for international medical accreditation, as well as in the computer and engineering disciplines, and to move forward in obtaining international accreditation for all programs.
For her part, the Dean of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Huda Al-Emad, confirmed that Sana'a University has obtained full institutional and programmatic accreditation for more than 214 academic programs in all faculties of the university with the exception of the laboratory and higher nursing programs at the Faculty of Medicine and Applied Sciences.
Dr. Al-Emad pointed out that the university has completed 95 percent of the standards and conditions required to obtain international accreditation in the medicine and surgery program. Dr. Al-Emad praised the role of the university leadership for its great support for the committees' work and teams involved in the completion of this project.
