Washington - Saba:
Neuroscientists have found that the beginning of thinking decline appears in middle age, specifically at the age of 44, when brain cells begin to show signs of mental decline, reaching their peak at the age of 67, according to a study published in the journal PNAS.
Researchers from Stony Brook University led the study, which included 19,300 individuals, and found that neuronal insulin resistance may be the main factor in brain deterioration.
They indicated that providing alternative energy sources to neurons in middle age may help slow brain aging.
Experiments with ketone supplements also showed an improvement in insulin sensitivity in brain cells, which enhances the chances of early prevention of brain deterioration.
