The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, represented by the General Organization for Grain Development and Production, in coordination with the local authority and the agricultural sector in Al-Jawf Province and the General Organization for Seed Multiplication, launched the winter wheat harvest season for the year 2024-2025, under the title "Hand protects, hand builds".
At the launch,Agriculture Minister Dr. Radwan Al-Rabaei praised the efforts of the General Organization for Grain Development and Production, the local authority, the agricultural sector in Al-Jawf, and the security authorities, which contributed to the success of the current agricultural season.
Minister Al-Rabaei explained that the agricultural expansion in Al-Jawf province this year witnessed a significant increase, with the cultivated areas reaching 12,000 hectares, compared to 7,000 hectares last season, an increase of more than 40 percent, expecting this season's productivity to be many times the previous productivity, with some farms achieving a threefold increase in production.
Al-Jawf Governor Faisal bin Haidar expressed his happiness at the presence of the leadership of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Ministry to launch the wheat harvest for the 1446H season in the province.
He praised the efforts of the Grain Corporation, the province's security director, the agricultural sector, and its workers, stressing that achieving this success would not have been possible without providing a safe and supportive environment for agriculture.
The agricultural services sector official, Daifallah Shamlan, emphasized the importance of agricultural infrastructure, especially agricultural lines, as a key factor in achieving expansion and investment in the agricultural sector.
At the inauguration, the Executive Director of the General Organization for Grain Development and Production, Engineer Salah Al-Mashraqi, considered the inauguration of this year's wheat harvest as a result of the efforts made by the organization in cooperation with the agriculture sector and the concerned authorities.
He pointed out that the organization celebrates today an achievement that was achieved thanks to God , the efforts of employees in the organization and the agriculture sector, who worked diligently and diligently during the past season.
The executive director of the Grain Corporation announced a strategic plan prepared by the organization to expand in the coming season, including reducing the costs of plowing , harvesting, and reducing the prices of wheat seeds to encourage farmers and investors, calling on the concerned authorities to repair the line between Al-Hazm and Al-Labanat, which will encourage those who hesitated to invest last year due to the condition of the line.
