Sana'a - Saba:
Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Ali al-Yafei visited and inspected on Friday the historic al-Abbas Mosque in Asnaf Khawlan Village, Jahana district of Sana'a province.
During his visit, mosque's caretaker Ahmed al-Shadhbi provided the Minister with information about the mosque's history, which dates back to 519 AH, and outlined its current needs. The Minister pledged to address these requirements.
Dr. al-Yafei examined the mosque's historical features, including the mihrab, prayer niche, pools, construction materials, Sabaean columns, carved ceiling decorations, and wooden boxes.
The Minister praised the mosque's architectural beauty and historical significance, recognizing it as a "historical masterpiece" and "unique spiritual and religious beacon."
He highlighted its importance as a key historical landmark in Khawlan region and the Islamic era in Yemen.
He reiterated the Ministry's commitment to preserving religious landmarks as part of Yemen's cultural and faith heritage.
