The Hague - Saba:
The International Court of Justice intends to hold hearings next month on Israel's humanitarian obligations towards the Palestinians, amid the Israeli government's freeze on allowing aid into Gaza.
According to Quds Press on Friday, the UN General Assembly approved a resolution in December requesting the world body's highest court to provide an advisory opinion on the matter.
The resolution, submitted by Norway in October, was adopted by a large majority.
The ICJ calls for clarification of what Israel must do "to ensure and facilitate the unimpeded provision of urgent supplies necessary for the survival of the Palestinian civilian population."
