Tehran - Saba:
Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said that the imposition of new sanctions on the Iranian Oil Minister reflects the ineffectiveness of previous sanctions, noting that the continued imposition and updating of restrictions confirms the failure of those policies to achieve their goals.
The Iranian spokeswoman added in a post on the "X" platform: "If previous sanctions had proven effective, there would have been no need to impose new sanctions and update them."
Mohajerani explained that the Iranian Ministry of Oil is one of the "key ministries facing the challenges resulting from sanctions, working on the front lines to confront international pressure.
She added that oil exports cannot be stopped, and Iran will not give up Iran's share in the global market." She noted that the repeated sanctions on Iranian Oil Minister Paknejad reflect the extent of the concern felt by the parties imposing these measures regarding the ministry's ongoing activities, which have proven effective in overcoming numerous economic obstacles.
Mahajerani affirmed that Iran will continue to seek economic alternatives and new strategies to overcome these challenges, with a focus on strengthening regional and international cooperation in the energy sector.
She emphasized that the Ministry of Oil will not stop developing its projects and finding new solutions to overcome the sanctions, reflecting the government's resilience in the face of these ongoing pressures.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated in a statement yesterday that the US move to impose sanctions on Iran is "further clear evidence of the falsity of the repeated claims by US officials about their willingness to negotiate and further evidence of their hostility to the development, progress, and well-being of the Iranian people."
The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on the Iranian Oil Minister and entities associated with the Iranian oil sector on Thursday, in a move aimed at increasing pressure on the Iranian government.
