Information Minister Hashim Sharaf al-Din convened a meeting in Sana'a on Thursday to discuss strategies for countering the "American-Zionist" media narrative amidst escalating aggression against Yemen and Gaza.
The meeting, attended by senior media officials, focused on developing a unified media policy to combat the "information and psychological war" waged by the US and Israel enemies. Participants reviewed media coverage of the recent US airstrikes targeting civilian areas in Yemen, drawing parallels to the decade-long conflict and highlighting Yemen's support for Palestine.
Minister Sharaf al-Din stressed the importance of confronting the "American-Zionist media machine" and its "misinformation," particularly as the US intensifies its attacks on civilian targets in an attempt to suppress Yemeni support for Gaza. He called for increased production of media materials to expose "American and Israeli crimes" and translate the directives of Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi.
He condemned the US-led aggression 2015 intervention and its renewed attacks and aggression, stating they aim to deter Yemen's support for the Palestinian cause. The minister urged media outlets to unify their discourse, strengthen regional solidarity, and expose the US and Israel's attempts to destabilize the region.
He accused the US and Israel of "demonizing" resistance movements like Ansarullah and Hamas, and called for a global effort to expose their "crimes" on social media. Minister Sharaf al-Din praised the leader's stance in support of Gaza and urged national media to focus on Arab and international audiences, highlighting the Palestinian struggle.
The Deputy Minister of Information and other attendees emphasized their commitment to implementing guidelines, refuting rumors, and working as a unified team to counter "hostile media rhetoric."
