Abdul Rahman Shadid, a leader in the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), called on the Palestinian people to participate in the general strike and to participate in massive marches of anger and support in the West Bank in rejection of the occupation's aggression against Gaza and in support of the resistance.
According to the Palestinian Ma'an News Agency, the Hamas leader said on Sunday: "With the continuation of crimes, the war of genocide, and the ethnic cleansing of our people in Gaza, and the aggression, persecution, and Judaization practiced by the enemy and its settlers in the West Bank, there is no choice but to rise up against the enemy and ignite all points of contact."
