Hebron - Saba:
The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs announced that Israeli authorities have placed locks on all doors of the Ibrahimi Mosque.
The door of the tomb of Joseph, peace be upon him, the door of the "incense burner" room, the door of the call to prayer room, and the door of the custodians' room in the occupied section.
The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted the ministry as saying in a statement issued on Monday that the enemy's actions constitute a dangerous step aimed at clearly undermining the ministry's sovereignty over the Ibrahimi Mosque, its corridors, courtyards, rooms, and internal and external doors.
The statement added that this matter requires a serious stance from the international community, holding this unjust occupation accountable for its responsibility to protect religious sites, refrain from attacking them, and refrain from attempting to control and steal them, especially in light of its attacks that aim, gradually and systematically, to transform the mosque into a synagogue where Jewish Talmudic prayers are performed.
Sheikh Moataz Abu Sneineh, director of the Ibrahimi Mosque, emphasized that the keys to all the shrines and corridors in the mosque belong to the Islamic Waqf, which has sovereignty and legal jurisdiction over them. This constitutes a blatant and dangerous attack on the sanctity of these places, which may not be violated by any right or in any way.
The Palestinian Endowments called on the people of Hebron to confront these attacks with steadfastness and perseverance within the sanctuary by performing prayers and various religious activities.
