The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Hungarian Ambassador to the State of Palestine Gabor Decacchi on Monday to deliver an official letter of protest against his country's reception of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite his being wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges related to war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinians.
According to the Palestinian News Agency, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry Adel Attia conveyed to the Hungarian Ambassador the State of Palestine's protest and strong condemnation of this move.
He considered that receiving Netanyahu, despite the issuance of an arrest warrant against him by the International Criminal Court, constitutes dangerous complicity with the Zionist enemy and encourages it to continue its crimes of genocide and displacement against the Palestinian people.
Attia stressed that Hungary's decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court does not absolve it of its moral and legal obligations under international law and the Rome Statute, especially in light of the ongoing crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In blatant disregard for the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court, the Hungarian government last Thursday welcomed the enemy's prime minister, who is accused of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
