Gaza - Saba:

Palestinian and Arab journalists and activists launched a large-scale online campaign on social media platforms on Monday, denouncing the ongoing attacks by the Zionist enemy against journalists in the Gaza Strip, the latest of which was the targeting of a tent designated for journalists near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip.

The campaign was launched under the hashtags #ThePressIsBurning and #ThePressIsBurning.

This campaign came in response to the ongoing escalation and attacks targeting media institutions and journalists in Gaza, which aim to silence voices documenting and reporting violations against civilians.

According to the Palestine Today News Agency, participants in the campaign called on the international community and human rights organizations to take firm positions and urgent measures to protect journalists and provide them with a safe working environment.

The campaign organizers also emphasized that the widespread international solidarity with Palestinian journalists highlights the extent of the risks they face while carrying out their professional duties, stressing the need to hold the Israeli enemy accountable for its ongoing violations of international humanitarian law.

For their part, international human rights and media organizations expressed their grave concern over the continued targeting of journalists, considering it a systematic attempt to obscure the truth. They emphasized the importance of international action to ensure that those responsible for these attacks do not escape punishment.

The online campaign continues to expand and spread, with widespread participation from journalists, activists, and media professionals from inside and outside Palestine, clearly affirming the rejection of the targeting of press and media freedom.
