Occupied al-Quds– Saba:
Al-Quds Governorate on Tuesday warned of the intention of extremist "Temple" groups to slaughter the Passover sacrifice inside al-Aqsa Mosque, explaining that this will only lead to an explosion in al-Quds and the entire region, dragging it into waves of violence and possibly a religious war with dire consequences.
The Governorate this a dangerous escalation, coming in the context of persistent and frantic attempts to target Islamic and Christian holy sites, most notably al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement, it said that these calls, which coincide with photos and parades published by prominent figures in these settler groups, represent a provocation and a flagrant violation of the feelings of Muslims.
The Governorate considered these biblical practices "an attack on the religious rights of Muslims in one of their holiest sanctities, which represents a purely Islamic site, recognized by all international laws and all UNESCO and UN resolutions."
It also considered this a "serious attack on the historical and legal status quo and constitutes a clear violation and interference in the Hashemite guardianship and the official Jordanian role in managing the Islamic endowments and holy sites in the Holy City, including the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards."
