World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala announced on Wednesday that, according to the organization's initial forecasts, trade between China and the United States could decline by 80 percent due to tariffs.
Russia Today reported that Okonjo-Iweala published a statement on the organization's website in which she said: "The escalating trade tensions between the United States and China pose a significant risk of a sharp decline in bilateral trade. According to our initial forecasts, trade between the two countries could decline by up to 80 percent."
