Oman - Saba:
The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that the first round of indirect negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States regarding the lifting of sanctions and the Iranian nuclear file ended minutes ago.
Tasnim International News Agency reported that the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that during these negotiations, mediated by the Sultanate of Oman, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Iranian Foreign Minister, and Steve Witkoff, the US President's Special Representative for Middle East Affairs, exchanged the views and positions of their governments regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program and the lifting of illegal sanctions imposed on Iran, through the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman.
The Ministry added that the negotiations took place in a constructive atmosphere based on mutual respect, and the two sides agreed to continue these negotiations next week.
It is worth noting that after more than two and a half hours of indirect negotiations, the heads of the Iranian and US delegations held a brief conversation in the presence of the Omani Foreign Minister before leaving the meeting venue.
