Sana'a - Saba:
The 1446 AH (2019) Summer Model and Open Schools Sports Championship kicked off in the districts of Sana'a Governorate. The championship is organized by the Youth and Sports Office and the Youth Unit of the General Mobilization in the governorate, with the participation of 148 model and open schools.
Twelve teams are participating in the championship, divided into three groups based on a one-to-one system. One team from each district will qualify to compete at the sector level, followed by a team from each sector to compete for the semifinals and the Governorate Cup.
At the opening of the tournament in Sanhan District, Al-Sarkha and Al-Imam Al-Hadi teams met. The match ended with Al-Sarkha winning 3-1 for Al-Imam Al-Hadi, while Basmah and Al-Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali tied in the second match, 2-2.
Abdul Mohsen Al-Sharif, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, stated that the football tournament will feature activities including a sports race, volleyball, and various other sports aimed at stimulating and developing the physical and cultural abilities of youth.
The opening ceremony was attended by Nabil Al-Namous, Director of Sports Activities at the Youth and Sports Office; Commander Muhammad Al-Azzi, Deputy Head of Scouting Training in the governorate; Captain Mutahhar Al-Sharji, a member of the Gifted School; Ismail Al-Shami, Director of Sports Activities at the Sanhan Office; and the directors of the summer schools participating in the tournament.
