Moscow - Saba:
Russia has retained its position as the fourth largest economy in the world for 2024, widening its lead over Japan, according to data from the World Bank.
Citing Russia’s RT channel and "Novosti," the assessment is based on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) measured by Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), which reflects current price levels across different economies.
The World Bank estimated Russia’s 2024 GDP by PPP at approximately $6.92 trillion, up from $6.45 trillion in 2023, keeping it in fourth place globally.
Japan held on to fifth place, with its GDP rising to $6.4 trillion in 2024 from $6.25 trillion in 2023. The gap between Russia and Japan grew to $514 billion—double the 2023 difference of $264 billion.
