Dhamar - Saba:
The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Quheim, inspected on Sunday the extent of rock landslides and damages caused by heavy rains on the main asphalt road in Naqeel Bani Salama, located in Al-Manar District of Dhamar Governorate.
During the visit, Minister Quheim was briefed by the Director of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges in Dhamar, Engineer Mohammed Al-Madani, and the Director of Al-Manar District, Mohammed Ja'ran, on the damages that led to the complete closure of the road, disruption of traffic, damage to vehicles, and the ongoing efforts to rescue lives, provide medical aid to the injured, remove debris and violations, and restore normal traffic flow.
Quheim directed the rapid removal of all damages and debris, the repair of the main road and Hammam Ali route, the mitigation of resulting impacts, and the cleaning of drainage channels.
He stressed the importance of enhancing readiness, mobilizing equipment, resources, and rescue teams, and taking necessary measures to address any emergencies.
Meanwhile, Al-Manar District Director Ja'ran praised the visit of the Minister of Transport and Public Works, which reflects the leadership's commitment to addressing disaster-related damages and alleviating the suffering of travelers.
He commended the efforts of the General Authority branch and the Road Maintenance Fund in overcoming the scale of the disaster, removing damages, and rehabilitating and maintaining roads.
On the sidelines of the visit, a meeting was chaired by Minister Quheim, attended by the directors of the Roads Authority branch and Al-Manar District, to discuss solutions for addressing the impacts of the rains on the Hammam Ali road and identifying priorities and emergency measures.
