WASHINGTON April 18. 2024 (Saba) - American police have arrested a group of Google employees after they organized a sit-in to protest cooperation between the technology giant and the Zionist enemy government.
No Tech For Apartheid employees staged a ten-hour sit-in at Google offices in the States of New York and California.
During the protest, activists targeted the office of Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, amid a dispute over a $1 billion contract with Israel.
Videos posted on social media showed police arresting nine demonstrators.
The protest group's spokeswoman, Jane Chung, wrote in a post on "X" platform that "Google orders the arrest of its workers due to the protest."
A live video clip of the incident that took place at Google's California office showed a security worker telling the protesters that they had been placed on "administrative leave," while also warning them not to trespass.
Other footage shows California police officers entering the office and asking protesters if they refuse to leave before being escorted out in handcuffs. A separate video clip from Google's New York office also shows the arrest of protesters.
These protests represent an escalation in the dispute between technology workers and executives over Google's work in Israel.
