SANA'A April 24. 2024 (Saba) The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning predicted rain of varying intensity in a number of governorates, and fog formed on the mountainous heights of five governorates during the next 24 hours.
The center said in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by Saba, that thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by hail, are expected at times in the governorates of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Al-Dhale, Al-Bayda and the Hadramawt plateau.
Scattered rains of varying intensity are also expected in the governorates of Saada, Taiz, Lahj, Shabwa, Al-Mahra, and the heights and deserts of the governorates of Hadramawt, Marib and Al-Jawf.
According to the center, fog is likely to form on the mountainous heights of the governorates of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ibb and Taiz.
He stated that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was measured in some weather stations was as follows / Al-Mahwit: 28 mm, Al-Dhale: 23.6, Ibb Al-Saddah: 16.7, Ibb: 16.3, Imran: 9.6, Hajjah: 8.6, Al-Kaddan: 3.2 mm.
Rainfall stations in Amanat Al-Asimah also recorded quantities ranging from 0.6 to 13 mm, and in Taiz between 0.4 - 17.3 mm, and scattered rains of varying intensity outside the monitoring stations fell on areas of the governorates of Hadramawt, Shabwa, Al-Bayda, Lahj, Dhamar, Marib and Al-Jawf.
The center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected of torrential rains in reefs and valleys and advised not to cross them or be in their streams.
He called for taking the necessary measures to avoid lightning in order to preserve lives and property, warning of collapses, rock and mudslides, low horizontal visibility due to rain, low clouds and fog, and strong winds descending from heavy clouds and hail.
The Center called on the relevant authorities, each according to its location and specialization, to take the necessary measures to protect lives and property.
