OSLO May 22. 2024 (Saba) - Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Eide announced his country's intention to arrest the Prime Minister of the Zionist enemy entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, if he visits it, after an arrest warrant was issued against him by the International Criminal Court.
Edi was quoted by AFP on Wednesday as saying that his country is obliged to arrest Netanyahu if he visits it after a decision by the International Criminal Court. He pointed out that Norway is one of the signatories to the Rome Statute establishing the Court.
Norway is the first European country to threaten to arrest Netanyahu and Galant if the International Criminal Court decides to issue a warrant, according to the Israel Broadcasting Corporation.
Earlier on Tuesday, Netanyahu claimed he was not afraid to travel around the world following the decision by the ICC prosecutor in The Hague.
ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan has announced his request for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war minister Yoav Galant on charges of war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.
Because Khan's request also included Hamas leaders, analysts criticized him for being biased because he equated victim with executioner.
However, these analysts argue that criticism of some of Khan's decision does not mean losing sight of the important shift towards prosecuting Israel, whose protectors and patrons are unable to deny that it has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity.
According to this view, this decision is a historic shift, no matter how flawed and flawed its premises, which means that Israel is in a different position than it has been throughout its history.
