The Hague - SABA:
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) will begin hearings tomorrow, Monday, on the lawsuit filed by 40 nations from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Arab League, African Union, and United Nations against Israel’s ban on the activities of UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees).
Last year, 137 countries voted to refer the case to the ICJ, with only 12 opposing.
The hearings will last 5 days, during which judges will hear arguments from all participating states.
Israel’s ban on UNRWA operations in the occupied East Quds took effect in January 2025, severely impacting humanitarian aid for Palestinian refugees.
