MOSCOW July 25. 2024 (Saba) -The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that one of its fighter jets intercepted three aircraft belonging to the British weather Force, after air surveillance means detected air targets approaching the country's borders over the Black Sea.
The ministry said, in a statement, that a fighter model "Su-27" of the Air Defense Forces intercepted a strategic reconnaissance aircraft model "RC-135" and two fighters "Typhoon" belonging to the British weather, pointing out that the British military aircraft changed course after the approach of the Russian fighter, and moved away from the borders of Russia.
The statement stressed that the flight of the Russian fighter was carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace over neutral waters and without crossing air borders or dangerously approaching any foreign aircraft.
This is the second time in 24 hours that Russian fighter jets have intercepted British planes that tried to violate Russian borders over Black Sea airspace.
