SANA'A August 6. 2024 (Saba) - The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, discussed on Tuesday with representatives of international organizations in Yemen, topics related to humanitarian work.

The meeting, which was attended by the Head of the Planning and Evaluation Department, Ali Al-Kuhlani, and the Director of the OCHA Office in Yemen, Marcus Werner, stressed the Supreme Council's keenness to provide and facilitate the work of organizations to deliver humanitarian aid to beneficiaries.

At the meeting, Al-Hamli reviewed the tasks and role of the Supreme Council as a single window to deal with UN, international, and local organizations in carrying out humanitarian work.

He stressed the need for organizations to abide by national laws, pointing to the keenness of the leadership and the Council on the stability of humanitarian work, taking into account what is related to the security, stability, values, culture, and identity of the Yemeni people.

The Secretary-General of the Council stressed the need to coordinate with the Supreme Council in humanitarian work, stressing the existence of organizations that carry out activities away from the Council, which raises suspicions that these organizations evade their lack of coordination with the Council, which is the single window for humanitarian action.

He warned against carrying out political and sabotage acts, through projects or employees in the implementation of a foreign agenda under the umbrella of humanitarian work, stressing the importance of organizations sensing responsibility towards Yemen, through the implementation of activities and projects that meet the needs of the Yemeni people.

Al-Hamli explained that the circulars issued by the Council come within the framework of the implementation of the basic agreements signed with international organizations, including articles, conditions, and obligations.

For their part, the participants in the meeting praised the interest and cooperation of the Humanitarian Affairs Council. Stressing the work to implement what has been put forward by the Secretary-General of the Council to achieve humanitarian work.
