MOSCOW August 23. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the UN Security Council on Friday to "adopt a new resolution on a ceasefire in Gaza, after the failure to implement the resolution proposed by the United States and approved by the Council."
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that "Russia proposed to the UN Security Council to adopt a new resolution to cease fire in Gaza Strip and deliver humanitarian aid to the residents of the Strip."
On July 10, the Security Council adopted an American draft resolution stipulating a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Strip, and the displaced persons return to their areas.
