Jenin - Saba:
Israeli enemy forces continue their aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the 99th consecutive day.
The Palestinian WAFA News Agency quoted Jenin Mayor Muhammad Jarrar as saying that Israeli enemy forces began bulldozing in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin in the morning hours, and that the operation is still ongoing. He confirmed that the city has suffered significant losses to infrastructure and property since the beginning of the aggression, with the estimated value of the losses amounting to $300 million.
He noted that 800 housing units in the city have been partially damaged, in addition to 15 buildings that have been demolished since the beginning of the aggression. Most of the damage to buildings and residences has been concentrated in the eastern neighborhood and the Al-Hadaf neighborhood.
Regarding the extent of the damage to the camp, Jarrar confirmed that all residents' homes and property inside the camp were completely or partially damaged, while the entire infrastructure was destroyed.
Israeli forces continue their destruction and bulldozing operations inside the camp, while continuing to prevent entry or access. Concerns have increased with the installation of iron gates at the camp's entrances a few days ago by the occupying forces.
Since the beginning of the aggression, these forces have forced 790 families to flee the city, according to Jarrar. 380 buildings have been evacuated of their residents in the city alone. Meanwhile, families from the camp continue to flee and are prevented from returning. Estimates indicate that the number of displaced persons from the city and camp has exceeded 22,000.
Jarrar also addressed the economic situation of the city in light of the ongoing aggression. It is estimated that the city is suffering significant economic losses, while some areas are experiencing complete economic paralysis, especially in the western neighborhoods.
Israeli forces arrested five Palestinian citizens from the city of Jenin at dawn today, including journalist Ali Samoudi, a correspondent for Al-Quds newspaper, after raiding his home in the Al-Zahraa neighborhood of the city.
