UN Secretary-General António Guterres confirmed that the situation in the Gaza Strip is going from bad to worse due to the Israeli war and the blockade that has been in place for more than two months.

During a press conference in New York on Tuesday, Guterres said, "The situation in the Gaza Strip is going from bad to worse, and Israel has been preventing food and medicine from entering Gaza for nearly two months."

He added, "It is time to stop the repeated displacement in Gaza, and there is no end in sight to the killing and misery in Gaza."

He stressed, "I am concerned by statements by Israeli officials about using humanitarian aid as a tool for military pressure."

He stressed that aid is non-negotiable, and that Israel must protect civilians and approve and facilitate relief programs.
