The head of the so-called Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet), Ronen Bar, announced his resignation from his position following the failure to prevent the October 7th attack.
Israeli Channel 13 reported Bar stating in his resignation speech on Monday evening: "After years of working on multiple fronts, in one night - on the southern front (Gaza Strip) - everything collapsed. All systems failed, including Shin Bet's failure to provide advance warning," setting June 15 as his official departure date.
He added: *"After 35 years of arduous work on various fronts, in one night on the southern front, the sky fell to earth as all security systems collapsed - including Shin Bet, which failed to provide early warning. This evening, I decided to announce my implementation of the decision to end my duties as head of the General Security Service."*
