GAZA - SABA: Hamas has stated that the occupation government's decision to close al Jazeera's office in Ramallah is a retaliatory action due to the network's role in revealing the occupation's crimes against Palestinians.
Izzat al-Rishq, a member of Hamas's political bureau, characterized the closure as an attempt to obscure the resistance efforts in Gaza and Hezbollah's responses to Israeli military actions.
Al-Rishq condemned the move as part of a broader campaign against journalists, describing it as systematic Zionist terrorism aimed at hiding the truth.
He asserted that the closure infringes on press freedom and civil liberties.
Hamas expressed solidarity with al Jazeera and emphasized that the network will continue its vital work despite the challenges.
Israeli forces had previously stormed al Jazeera's office, ordering its closure for 45 days, confiscating equipment, and preventing staff from using their vehicles while halting the channel's broadcasts.
