SANA'A - SABA: Vice chairman of the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption Redan Al-Mutawakel on Monday emphasized the enduring significance of the September 21 Revolution during an event organized to mark its tenth anniversary.

He stated that the revolution continues to inspire aspirations for its goals.

In his speech, al-Mutawakel highlighted the revolution as a pivotal moment in the fight against corruption, focusing on the pursuit of accountability and recovery of misappropriated funds.

He praised the leadership of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi for guiding the movement with wisdom and resilience.

Al-Mutawakel underscored the importance of celebrating the revolution's achievements, particularly in promoting pride and dignity, and overcoming external influences on Yemeni sovereignty.

He noted the sacrifices made to protect national institutions and highlighted the military victories achieved, particularly in military manufacturing, in response to aggression aimed at undermining the revolution.

Reflecting on the current support for Palestinian resistance amid the ongoing conflict, Al-Mutawakel outlined key accomplishments of the Anti-Corruption Commission from 2019 to 2024.

He noted the development and launch of the National Strategy for Combating Corruption (2022-2026) and significant organizational improvements within the Commission.

He reported that the Authority issued over 3,300 directives to combat corruption, with a financial impact exceeding 12 billion riyals. The Commission successfully concluded 330 major corruption cases, questioning nearly 2,500 suspects, with many referred to the Public Prosecution.

Additionally, al-Mutawakel revealed that the Authority received nearly 11,500 financial disclosure statements and took action against 136 individuals for failing to comply with disclosure requirements. He detailed efforts to combat illicit enrichment, analyzing 876 cases and seizing substantial assets.

The Authority also implemented numerous awareness programs, reaching over 5,300 participants from various sectors, to educate on the dangers of corruption and promote integrity.

In conclusion, al-Mutawakel reiterated the commitment to continuing the fight against corruption, aligning efforts with national priorities and reinforcing the framework for accountability and transparency in governance.
