The Chinese space agency announced that it has successfully recovered the experimental satellite "Shijian-19," the first reusable and returnable satellite, at the "Dongfeng" landing site in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of northern China.
The Xinhua News Agency reported today, Sunday, that the agency stated that all returnable payloads in fields such as plant breeding, microorganisms, autonomous control, verification of new technology, space science experiments, as well as social welfare and cultural innovation have been smoothly recovered.
"Shijian-19," which was launched on September 27 from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China, has achieved a number of technological breakthroughs.
The flight tests have penetrated key technologies, including the ability for reuse and return without damage, a high degree of guaranteed microgravity, and verification of the technical indicators for the new generation of high-performance, returnable, and reusable space test platforms, achieving all the expected test results.
The "Shijian-19" satellite, which features high levels of microgravity and precise timing, is considered an effective space testing platform for high microgravity levels, supporting research in microgravity sciences and space life sciences.
Researchers conducted space education experiments and validated new technologies and space scientific experiments using the reusable satellite with the aim of enhancing, developing, and applying new space technologies.
The satellite also carried multiple international cooperation payloads and serves as an excellent platform to enhance international cooperation in the field of space exploration and utilization.
