Sana'a - Saba:

A meeting convened on Wednesday at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, chaired by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Abdulrahman Juma'i, focused on the damage caused to roads in Hajjah province due to floods, rockslides, and the overload of heavy transport vehicles.

The meeting included key figures such as the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Hajjah governor Hilal al-Sufi and Representative Ali Hiba Mansari. Participants emphasized the urgent need to establish a mechanism to preserve key roadways, particularly Hajjah-Sana'a route, by enforcing axle weight regulations on overloaded vehicles.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration among various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, to educate drivers and the community on road preservation and the importance of participating in the restoration efforts following flood damage.

Furthermore, the meeting underscored the necessity of activating community involvement in road maintenance, adhering to engineering specifications, and seeking geological assessments before initiating any road projects to prevent potential disasters.
