Jakarta - Saba:
An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale hit Indonesia's eastern Papua province today.

Reuters quoted the Indonesian Geophysical Agency as saying: The earthquake occurred at a depth of ten kilometers ... There were no immediate reports of human or material damage.

The Indonesian agency ruled out the occurrence of tsunamis as a result of the earthquake.
