Gaza - Saba:
Khalil al-Haya, acting head of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip and head of the movement's Arab and Islamic Relations Office, emphasized last night that the conclusion of a prisoner exchange deal will be met with a complete ceasefire, without which there will be no prisoner exchange.
Al-Haya said in statements to Al-Aqsa TV: “The issue is not about the prisoners or the Palestinians.” The issue is not about the prisoners or Philadelphia, the issue lies in the fact that Netanyahu specifically does not want to reach an agreement, because he stated in the Knesset that “Hamas wants to stop the war and we do not want to stop the war, we want to recover the prisoners.”
He added:” If the aggression does not stop, why should the resistance, and Hamas in particular, return the prisoners? How can we return the Israeli prisoners in our hands if the war continues? Who is sane or not sane who holds a strong card and throws it away while the war continues?”
He continued:” We presented many initiatives
We have shown great flexibility to enter into negotiations aimed at ending the aggression and completing the prisoner exchange deal, and there are ongoing contacts with some countries and mediators to move the negotiations file, and we are ready and proactive to continue these efforts.”
He pointed out that the most important thing is that there is a real will on the part of the occupation to stop the aggression, but the reality proves that the obstructionist is Netanyahu, as witnessed by the near and far, adding, “A week before the US elections, the Americans made an offer that did not include a partial ceasefire for a period of days, with the return of 15 Israeli prisoners and then resuming the war, and the Americans consider our rejection of their proposal as evidence of our lack of cooperation, but the truth is that the proposal did not talk about stopping the aggression or the war, nor did it refer to the return of the displaced or the withdrawal of the occupation.”
He explained, “We rejected the American offer, and emphasized that we are ready to enter into the agreement reached on 2/7, which is based on the Security Council resolution adopting the initiative.”
The Hamas leader asked, “Is Netanyahu ready to adopt his paper? Is he ready for serious negotiations to stop the aggression and exchange prisoners?” He added, “We are fully ready for that.
Yesterday evening, Israeli media circulated quoting “Israeli” officials, saying that Hamas agreed to implement the first phase of the American agreement that it agreed to in May 2024, and waived the clause of a comprehensive and complete ceasefire
