The Supreme Judicial Council reviewed in its meeting today, chaired by the President of the Council, Judge Dr. Abdul Momen Shuja El-Din, the report on the completion of the Judicial Inspection Authority during the past two months.
The report included a number of important indicators aimed at strengthening the role of the Commission and developing the procedures and mechanisms of judicial, administrative, and financial work within the Authority, and related to its oversight functions over judges in the courts.
The report showed the most important steps taken by the Judicial Council to strengthen the role of the Commission during the specified period, the most important of which is to make changes and wide movements in the courts of appeal and first instance, as the Council approved changes for 12 presidents of the Court of Appeal, 9 heads of divisions and 18 presidents of the Court of First Instance, in addition to the establishment of several courts and divisions in some governorates.
The Council also discussed the report of the Chairman of the Inspection Board on the formation of the examination committees and the efficiency reports of judges in preparation for granting them the due promotions and directed the Authority to complete the inspection work on judges and then submit them to the Council so that it can complete the promotion procedures.
It approved the establishment of the Al-Mina and Al-Dhahi courts in Hodeida governorate by the law and also approved amending the name of the North Hodeidah Court to the current Court of First Instance, which is competent to hear the cases of the current directorate, as well as amending the name of the South Hodeidah Court of First Instance under the name of Al-Hawk Court of First Instance and is competent to hear cases of the Al-Hawk district.
The Council continued to discuss the draft manual on consensual and compulsory division procedures and postponed a decision on it until the completion of the study of the draft and enriching it with appropriate observations and proposals.
The Council decided on several grievances of members of the judiciary per the law.
The Council had reviewed and approved its previous minutes.
