Japanese stocks rose in morning trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, today, Thursday.

According to Japanese media, the Japanese Nikkei index rose by 0.85 percent, recording 39,610.43 points.

The broader Topix index also increased by 0.58 percent to 2,756.51 points.
