Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim and the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Abad, on Sunday inspected the rehabilitation and maintenance of a number of retaining walls in Sayila Sana'a - Al-Nasr Street intersection.
Qahim and Abad, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Works and Projects Sector, Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Houthi, and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Services Sector, Abdullah Hussein, inspected the work carried out, which included building retaining walls and removing dirt and flood debris.
The Secretary of the Capital and the Undersecretaries of the Works, Projects and Services Sector inspected the level of implementation of the project to rehabilitate the main sewage transmission line Phase I in Sana'a, and the level of achievement of the project funded by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
They were briefed on the progress of completing the remaining 400-meter section in front of Al-Nahrin Mosque in Sana'a and the level of achievement of the project funded by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Abad stressed the importance of this service project, which includes replacing the main sewage lines along more than five kilometers in the old Sana'a, at a cost of six million and 400 thousand dollars.
He urged the executing authority to increase the pace of work and speed up the completion of the project in order to improve sanitation services and preserve the historic city.
