Washington - Saba:
Palestinian families filed a lawsuit against the US State Department yesterday, Tuesday, due to Washington's support for the Zionist enemy army during its war on the Gaza Strip.
The lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia stated that the State Department, under the leadership of Anthony Blinken, deliberately circumvented US human rights law to continue funding and supporting Israeli military units accused of committing atrocities in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
The lawsuit said, "The State Department's failure to implement the Leahy Law is extremely shocking in the face of the unprecedented escalation of gross Israeli human rights violations since the outbreak of the Gaza war."
The Leahy Law prohibits US military assistance to individuals or security force units that commit gross human rights violations and have not been brought to justice.
The lawsuit was filed by five Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and the United States. The lawsuit says that the main plaintiff was a teacher in Gaza who was displaced seven times in the current war and lost 20 family members.
