Norwegian organization Greenpeace files suit against company funds settlements in West Bank

Oslo - Saba:
The Norwegian organization Greenpeace has filed a lawsuit against the international oil company Equinor, accusing it of violating the Norwegian transparency law.

The organization said that Equinor failed to limit the environmental and humanitarian damage resulting from its partnership with the Ithaca Energy Company, owned by the Israeli Delek Group, according to the Palestinian Safa Agency today.

Greenpeace emphasized that profits from this project contribute to funding Israeli settlement activities, which are illegal under international law.

Greenpeace added that the case highlights the role of big oil companies in making profits at the expense of lives and communities, whether by funding illegal settlement activities or contributing to the climate destruction caused by their investments in oil projects.

Israel's Delek Group is blacklisted by the United Nations for its involvement in activities that support the Israeli military and settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
