Israeli special forces failed to secure one hostage in Gaza one year ago, the 'Channel 12' said late on Sunday, following intelligence.

While they were storming their target, the forces were then surprised by bullets fired by Hamas fighters at the soldiers near the door of the targeted apartment, the Israeli TV added.

Two of the soldiers were critically injured and the hostage, whom they wanted to secure, was killed.
