As the Israeli aggression against Gaza entered its 438th consecutive day, Palestinian resistance forces continued their confrontations with invading Israeli troops across multiple frontlines. According to Israeli military acknowledgments, hundreds of its officers and soldiers have been killed, tens of thousands injured, and hundreds of military vehicles destroyed or severely damaged.
In the past 48 hours last Wednesday, Palestinian factions inflicted significant losses on Israeli forces. Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, reported engaging Israeli troops in multiple ambushes in Jabalia Camp, northern Gaza, killing and injuring 14 soldiers.
Al-Qassam also confirmed the detonation of a booby-trapped house targeting a unit of 11 Israeli soldiers, leaving them between dead and injured. Additionally, a Zionist troop carrier was destroyed using a “Shuwath” explosive device in Jabalia Camp.
Saraya Al-Quds, the Islamic Jihad’s military arm, bombarded Israeli soldiers and vehicles in Rafah’s Al-Atar Mosque vicinity with 60mm mortar shells and launched direct artillery strikes on forces in Al-Jenina neighborhood, east Rafah. They also hit an Israeli command center near the "Abu Areiban" site on the Netsarim axis with mortars.
Meanwhile, Mujahideen Brigades targeted enemy troop concentrations in northern Gaza’s Al-Sudania area with “Hasib” tactical missiles, while Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades fired two “107” rockets at an Israeli command center near the Friendship Hospital in Netsarim.
The Israeli military admitted to the deaths of an officer and a soldier during battles in Rafah. Major reserve officer Mosheko Maxim Rosenfeld, commander of the 7107th Engineering Battalion under the Nahal Brigade, was killed when a booby-trapped building collapsed. Another soldier died in the same incident, though his identity remains undisclosed.
On Monday evening, two additional Israeli soldiers were killed, and others injured in an ambush in Rafah, which reportedly involved the deliberate detonation of a building.
Statistics from Israel’s Ministry of Defense rehabilitation department reported that 13,500 soldiers have been injured during the ongoing war, representing a 20% increase in treated personnel, rising from 62,000 to 75,000 since the conflict began. Of these, 8,500 sustained physical injuries, while 5,200 suffered psychological trauma.
Israeli public broadcaster Kan indicated a growing mental health crisis, predicting increased suicide rates among soldiers post-war, per the Israeli Knesset’s Health Committee findings. An additional study revealed that over 520,000 individuals in occupied territories are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and require medical and psychological intervention.
Reports highlight severe mental health deterioration among Israeli settlers due to the protracted conflict, further compounding societal strain as the war continues to rage.
