Salah al-Din - Saba:
An Iraqi security source confirmed, today, Monday, the launch of a security operation in the Al-Zarka sector east of Salah al-Din Governorate.
The source said in an interview with the Iraqi "Al-Maalouma" Agency: "A joint security force set out from more than one axis to carry out a combing operation that included six direct targets in the western part of the Al-Zarka sector east of Salah al-Din."
He added: "The operation, in which intelligence detachments participate, is the second of its kind in less than two months and comes to secure important sites nine kilometers deep."
He pointed out that "Al-Zarka is a vital area in the geography of the eastern Salah al-Din regions and represents a compass linking it to Kirkuk and many scattered villages."
It is worth noting that Al-Zarka has witnessed several security breaches in the past years before the security forces succeeded in extending their control over it.
